DOSING

Consult with your doctor how much Leucofix/Folinic Acid is appropriate for you.

Autism research studies usually suggest a maximum dose of 2mg/kg daily (that is approximately 1mg per pound, so a 30lb child would take a max of 30mg a day). Autism research studies suggest stopping at a maximum daily dose of 50mg. (If your child is 50lb, 75lb, or 100lb or more, you would give a max of 50mg.)

We suggest starting with a small amount (5mg), and increasing slowly every day until reaching the maximum dose.

Folinic acid has been deemed safe for children and adults by the FDA.

However, common side effects are hyperactivity, irritability, and sleep problems.

If these occur, consider lowering your dose.

1/8 tsp = 5mg Folinic Acid

1/4 tsp = 10mg Folinic Acid

3/8 tsp = 15mg Folinic Acid

1/2 tsp = 20mg Folinic Acid

5/8 tsp = 25mg Folinic Acid

1 and 1/4 tsp = 50mg Folinic Acid
